Nothing better than that fresh mountain air ⛰ I Nothing better than that fresh mountain air ⛰ It had been a while since I’ve made a trip up to Big Bear Lake! This past mountain adventure was filled with lots of hiking, hot springs, new friends, and nature 🌲✨ HUGE thank you to @kristinmswanson and @prettyliltraveler for hosting such an amazing girls weekend getaway! (And if you’ve ever considered meeting up with new friends from the internet, this is your sign to take the leap 😉) Swipe to see a quick recap of our weekend adventures ↠ ⚲: Castle Rock Trail | Big Bear Lake, California

If you had asked me around this time last year if If you had asked me around this time last year if I would ever consider solo road trips, hiking & car camping, the answer would have probably been no. Before the pandemic my solo travels consisted of hopping on a plane and staying in hotels/hostels/Airbnbs, always surrounded by other humans, and connected to wifi. But this past year really pushed me to step further out of my comfort zone and try a whole new level of solo traveling. I’ve been on a road trip kick ever since and plan on exploring more national parks and adventuring through California. Still warming up to the solo hiking & car camping part, but I’m always down for an adventure. And wherever I end up you already know you’re all coming along for the ride 😉🚙 To all the new faces here - Welcome! And thank you for following along on the journey 🤗 I love connecting with you guys and have already met so many awesome humans who are doing the same things. I’m still sharing the adventures from this past weekend’s girls trip in Big Bear in stories, but was thinking about doing another Q&A there after - it’s been a minute! Feel free to leave any questions you may have for me in the comments ⤵︎ & follow along at @wanderfullyrylie for my latest adventures ✨ #roadtripadventures #adventureseekers #nomadgirls

⚲ McWay Falls | Big Sur, California 🌊✨ McW ⚲ McWay Falls | Big Sur, California 🌊✨ McWay Falls is a unique and rare waterfall that flows directly onto the beach - one of the only 2 in California! Here’s what you need to know for visiting this iconic spot in Big Sur [SAVE THIS POST FOR LATER]: - McWay Falls is located in Pfeiffer Burns State Park. Parking at the trailhead is limited and costs $10. - From the parking lot it’s a quick and easy 10 minute hike to the falls. (It’s more of a stroll than a hike.) - We visited during the day on our drive back home from Big Sur, but if you can I recommend going for the sunrise or sunset! - As of our visit, this trail is closed at the halfway point due to erosion. But still leads you to this ↟ beautiful view of the falls. (This photo was taken right at the gate blocking the rest of the trail.) Have you checked McWay Falls off your bucketlist? #mcwayfalls #bigsur #californiaroadtrip
I’ve been back from my Big Sur road trip for a l I’ve been back from my Big Sur road trip for a little over 1 month now, and I’m realizing that this is about my limit for staying in one place 🙃 I’ve never really enjoyed being stagnant, in any regard. I’m constantly wanting to learn new things, explore new places, and just take in all that life has to offer. Luckily I have a girls weekend getaway planned for next week 🤗 Any guesses where I’m going? Hint: 🐻🌲 Until then, I’m living vicariously through everyone’s Coachella posts (the fomo is real this year). Have fun if you’re going to weekend 2! ✨ ⚲ Keyhole Arch - Pfeiffer Beach | Big Sur, CA #nomadgirls #californiablogger #mytinyatlas
Time spent outside & disconnected is time well spe Time spent outside & disconnected is time well spent ✨ ⚲ Partington Cove | Big Sur, California Big Sur road trip travel tip: The majority of Big Sur is actually a cell reception dead zone. Which, I personally do not have a problem with 😄 However, if you’re exploring the trails and checking out specific landmarks, it’s a good idea to download an offline map before you hit the road! I use an offline map before all of my trips to save pins of all the spots I want to explore while I’m at my destination. It’s been a huge lifesaver, especially for road trips like this where you can’t rely on having internet access to find your way around. The app I use is @maps.me - I even like to color code my pins for each year, so I can see everywhere I’ve been all over the world! I treat it like the digital version of my pushpin map ☺️✈️ [Swipe for a screenshot] —> Do you use an offline map for your travels? Or any other helpful travel apps?
